TRAINING CAMP BI-FOCALS

FANTASY FOOTBALL: TRAINING CAMP BI-FOCALS Des Boodram - @boxscoreprophet   We are mere days into camp, and football fans everywhere couldn’t be more excited.  Never has a 2nd string RB and the amount of carries they get in 7 on 7 drills been a bigger deal.  In the age of social media, every microscopic accomplishment by every fringe player is popping up on social media.  Fans are constantly posting training camp footage, not because it’s exciting, but because they are excited.  We have become so football deprived in the off-season, every 6-yard run, or pass defended is a big deal.  But there’s redemption here, because thus far there are a handful of observances I have made (mostly on Twitter) that may...

Terrelle Pryor Fantasy Outlook

Terrelle Pryor: Fantasy Outlook Author: Noah S.   Possibly my favorite wide receiver to pick this year is Terrelle Pryor, who signed a deal with the Washington Redskins. Last year, Pryor finished as the WR22, and is currently going off the board at WR25. And let us not forget, Pryor played in a horrible offense last year. Like, really bad. So bad that 7 different people attempted a pass in Cleveland last year, including Pryor himself. Even with the constant turnover, Pryor still managed to have a 1,000+ yard season. So called experts think Pryor is in for regression because he did most of his work in garbage time, but that is actually not the case. During the 2016 season, Pryor had more first half receptions than second half receptions. Heading into the 2017 season,...

FANTASY FOOTBALL – YOU’RE THAT GUY

FANTASY FOOTBALL – YOU’RE THAT GUY Des Boodram - @boxscoreprophet If you play fantasy football, and I have no idea why you’d be reading this article if you didn’t – you likely fit into one of these four fantasy football personality types.  Self-awareness is the new big thing, and being able to look at yourself more objectively has never been more important.   This should only bother if you if it’s true.   FRINGE GUY   Fringe guy comes to the draft thoroughly unprepared with a clear lack of fantasy football acumen.  We put up with fringe guy because he’s seemingly easy money, but quite often fringe guy rosters a pretty good team because he’s taking the best available every time or...

Carlos Hyde: Buy or Sell?

Carlos Hyde's 2017 Fantasy Outlook - Noah SOne of the hottest topics of discussion heading into the 2017 fantasy season is San Francisco 49ers RB Carlos Hyde. Since the beginning of 2015 season, Hyde has started just 20 of 32 games. Hyde ranked 24th in fantasy points per game in 2015, and 11th in 2016. Not too bad for a guy with an ADP of RB17. Hyde isn't a great receiver, catching just a little over 2 passes per game in 2016. The good news for Hyde is that he has an offensive mastermind as his head coach (Kyle Shanahan.) Shanahan figures to change the culture in San Francisco after transforming the Atlanta Falcons into an elite offense in 2016. Offseason...

WHERE’S THE BIGGEST FANTASY FOOTBALL PARTY?

Des Boodram - @boxscoreprophet   Last season, my longest standing fantasy league in its 16th year saw a first time winner who went wire to wire in a standard 10 man online auction draft with participants in four states and three countries.  The eventual champion didn’t even attend the draft or make a transaction all season long until his QB, Derek Carr got injured. I left that draft feeling dirty and when it was time to cut him his winnings I felt like an ex-spouse of a Kardashian in South Beach the first day after the divorce settlement. It made me think, “where do my legit fantasy kicks truly come from?” and the answer is quite simple.  Whether I achieve the...
